Nepalese Style Goat Stew


Nepalese Style Goat Recipe

 

Ingredients

 

Cut 2 goat meat into pieces (not toobig) 

Onion: 1/3rd the volume of meat (chopped)

Ginger and garlic paste (1 TS each)

Green Pepper: 2 (chopped)

Cumin beans: 1 TS spearated

Salt: Based on your taste (2 TS - Typical)

Vegetable Oil: 5 ml 

 

Spices

 

Turmeric Powder: 1 TS 

Chilly powder (Kashmiri Mirch): 1 TS

Cilantro Powder: 1.5 TS

Garam Masala: 2 TS

Mutton Masala: 1 TS

Cumin Powder: 1 TS

 

Cooking

 

1. Heat the pressure cooker without the top on at medium heat (5 min)

2. Add Oil and let it heat for a couple mins

3. Add cumin beans and chopped pepper - cook until cumin starts turning red (1 - 2 mins)

4. Add Chopped onlion and cook it until the onions change its color (5-7 mins)

5. Add meat in the cooker and fry it for at leat 10 mins on its own (prederred 15-20min)

6. Keep stirring the meat along the time it is being cooked [NOTE: put the cover top on when not stirring]

7. When the water from meat appears to all have been extracted, Add Salt to it and cover the top - keep stirring every few mins for next 10 min

8. Add Turmeric, Chilly and Cilantro powders and give it a good stir - let it cook for 5 mins [NOTE: Have a glass of water handy, so if it tries to dry up, add just a little water and stir it]

9. Add Ginger paste, Garlic Pastes, Cumin Powder, Garam Masala, and Mutton Masala, and keep stiring it for next 3-5 minutes - add little water if needed to avoid drying up

10. Add two cups of water, and put the pressure cooker top on

11. After 3 pressure cooker pings, take it off of heat and let it cool off. 

12. Pour it in a bowl, and the Neplese Style Goat Curry is ready 

         ENJOY WITH RICE.
